BTS RM To Song Kang: 9 South Korean Stars To Be Discharged From Military Service In 2025 (2025)

In South Korea, all men between 18 and 28 must serve in the military for 18 to 21 months to help protect the country. Women can join if they want to, but very few people are excused; only top athletes or artists sometimes get exemptions. However, this year, many K-pop idols and actors are set to be discharged from military services, including BTS members, Song Kang and others.

The Glory actor got discharged from mandatory military service on May 13, 2025. He served 21 months in the Republic of Korea Air Force military band. After his return, the actor's agency - YUEHUA Entertainment Korea - confirmed that he is getting too many offers and will return to showbiz soon. ​

In 2023, K-pop idol Sehun, the youngest member of EXO began his mandatory military service in the month of December. He will be discharged from this on September 20, 2025. Last month, even the leader Suho confirmed that EXO will hold a full-group fan meeting in 2025. We can't wait!

Jin, the oldest BTS member, was the first to join the military in December 2022 and finished his service on June 12, 2024. J-Hope joined in April 2023 and was discharged in October 2024. The other five members – RM, V, Jimin, Jungkook, and Suga – are still serving but will be back soon. For all Jimin fans, the crooner will be discharge on June 11, 2025.

BTS member Suga aka Min Yon-go will be discharge from military service on June 21. With the countdown underway, fans aren’t stopping at “D-30.” On social media, hashtags like “D-40” are also trending, marking the big moment when BTS will be fully reunited after Suga finishes his military service.

Kim Min-Kyu, known for his role in Business Proposal, began military service in April 2024. He last starred in The Heavenly Idol and was praised for his acting. He’s expected to be discharged by September 20, 2025. Fans hope to hear about his new projects after that!

Global K-pop band BTS is going to end their hiatus in 2025 as five of the members are returning home after completing their military services. After RM, V aka Kim Tae-hyung will be discharged on June 10.
