So fate MCs, I this has been something I always wanted to try, but what I'm going to try and do here is take a master and servant, or in Grand or his case just a master and that's the question good they win a Holy Grail war from a different series
Pretty much like a lot of other fan fiction when you swipe and characters but a bit more Tamed.
Funny story I actually wanted to start with Seig I'm fgo but I figured let's start with our original pair, and the Series I came right after them.
Shirou Emiya and Saber Artoria Pendragon, Could the two of them complete the moon Holy Grail War
These were kind of inspired by Seth the programmer and his friends discussion videos for Naruto, Dragon Ball, and sometimes DC vs Death Note
Conveniently as I was thinking about this he did a video about Arty
But I figure I should pick up the pace🤣
Conditions
Shirou will replace Hakuno, sieg will do the same for my grand order discussion replacing ristuka . Same will go for the other series when we get to them, for example Kanata from Fate Redline if I were to put him in Prototype he would replace Ayama, depending on how I feel is what he bring okita with him or not is the story for another day
Another condition is that they have to do things by laws of how they work in fate extra rather than Stay night
A lot of characters get by, even most pure breeds are technically cheating by essentially hacking the moon cell to get what they need or to fight back when someone else is cheating. Information is also key and a gameplay mechanic, it's how you discover your opponent's identity and how they fight
Yes we will have to rely on a bit of headcanon just to make this work, to justify will Avalon even be able to make it here or not , since moon cell world is technically a digital one.
Three, this is a little complicated so bear with me, we are going to be following the fate extra version, not last encore.
For extra it's a very in your face simple real word but also not really, they're 100 Masters and servants, each pit against each other every single week
Every week you are given tournament brackets on who you will be fighting, you have to train and learn whatever you can about your opponent to defeat them within the coming week, fighting is not loud on school grounds or the dungeon between Masters but no one really follows that rule
Dan a pure knight himself doesn't follow that rule, if he sees you a he'll fight you🤣
I think that's everything so let's get started.
How the moon or starts is pretty similar to everyone, you go about your everyday life going to school studying doing tests and leaving, until Monday so I can just clicks in your brain that's something isn't right being trapped in this weird and less cycle how about all the clues you pass the test and go to the final exam
Getting a shadow servant and defeating another, if you feel you die plain and simple
Hakuno does this in both the game in anime kind of, they straight up lose but for one reason or another, you know why, they get their real servant anyway and pass the test.
For my playthrough I chose nero and it was explained that she was just so moved by his will to never give up she forced herself to be summoned anyway and they formed a pack
For Shirou I imagine that this would play out pretty similarly but the justification on Artoira making her grand appearances similar to how he got her in stay night, Avalon being inside him forces a summoning and there she is.
They complete the test, he gets what little memories he has that none of this is real, the rundown for how the Grail war works happens and they pay for the first week
Hakuno for whatever reason at the time did not get their Memories Back and it was their Drive for the entire war, to figure out who they really are.
Shirou doesn't really have too many memories himself but you would probably get back he's ones of Kiritsugu and the promise to be a hero of justice, and no we can't just do the Amnesia thing, for Shirou unlike his successor his memories were never really that important to his character to the point where the author Nasu pretty much refuses to elaborate on who his real parents were, they're just not that important they don't matter.
Hakuno on the other hand the memories and twist of why they can't remember is a huge part of that character, we can't just do the same thing again just because they are swiping places it just doesn't work.
So Shirou drive would be pretty similar to stay night, being a hero but of course there will be a few differences that I am about to go into and why
In the extra Universe Tiga is an AI, that version of Rin isn't the one from stay night it's her niece, Sakura is also anti, and Shinji is only 8 years old. So you could argue he just didn't have any friends in his world growing up for this to work.
But since he's replacing our other main character this Shinji would be that best friend despite being enemies.
Shinji and Drake
Speaking of let's get to the first round, He's nowhere near as frustratingly evil as his stay night counterpart not having the rough upbringing Shinji he still quite antagonistic towards you for the first round over the idea of this is just a game, remember how aggressive you can get towards your friend when you play a board game together, or something like smash or Mario Party Etc, that's pretty much what changes doing and why he's acting the way he is, being a toxic friend a competitive way
Shinji it's also a great hacker and gamer which is how he gets around in the first round he probably could have even done better if he realized that everything that's happening is real but he doesn't
Back to Shiro for the sake of argument let's say this one is closer to the Mayu Shirou, not for the strength but more of just how lonely he was when he was growing up, it's already described that she wrote never really smiles until after the war is over depending on what route you do sometimes during
No Drake is a very special case of a servant, but people don't really know that because it's never really explained in Grand order and isn't even hinted at in last encore, Drake won't really fight without money and she can't, after getting jumped by her in the first couple of days, the following day he eavesdrop on her and Shinji and you learned that she says and I quote " I won't work without gold Shinji we've been over this"
The more gold she has the more powerful she becomes, I bring this up because only is it a point in the game that helped you defeat her and a hint on who she is, it also explains one of the most controversial scenes in the anime where she rents out of bullets, that's pretty much just it she ran out of gold so she ran out of bullets
I don't know why they never explained it, I don't know why they chose to only let it be two episodes, but that's pretty much the reason
For my playthrough near suggested we take the gold before they can after Shinji hacks the moon cell to spawn some, for this I think he would offer a challenge after you guys get caught, both Shirou and artoria are surprisingly competitive so they wouldn't turn down the challenge
Anytime not in the dungeon preparing for the fight I imagine Shirou would go to the library to look up anything he needs to figure out who Drake's identity is, that or the tire side quest, this would absolutely happen because she's always asking you for help in the game
Sure I never turns down a request and this is our chance for him to essentially build that relationship with Tiga he hadn't stay night, although a cracked mirror version Cheryl being the type of guy he is just wouldn't care if she's real or not
That's also fuel for a crack sec between him and Hakunon but we can get to that one on another day, Esjay would love it.
Then we get to the day of the fight for the first round personally even without Moon cell meddling I'm pretty sure artoria could take Drake down in a fight
The real interesting part here is what happens after, Shirou it wouldn't really hit him what was going to happen to Shinji until it's already too late, just like Shinji didn't even realize this was real until he's dying
This would put Shirou into a bit of a slump similar to Haunko on how he felt to save someone, well also strengthening his resolve to end the grill War as soon as possible because how can this be anything but evil
Artoira would as well, she doesn't have qualms with killing, she has a massive soft spot for children to the point where even her Santa alter counterpart gave presents to Jack and nursery rhyme, who went out of their way to try and steal presents from her and fought for them, then after they didn't earn them by losing she gave them up anyway
So you can forward Camelot she would be upset that she had to murder a child
I brought up the power scaling thing a bit earlier, basically the moon still has ways of buffing your servants featuring these two lovely ladies
it's how we get things like any using Excalibur without dying, or Liz one shotting Gilgamesh
Not exactly sure how the nursing and buffing works but it's just a thing you can do in the game, I am more on the side that arthy would probably be more willing to explain how renewable Phantom works before they get to Li, but it has been told to us several times that she is stronger than nero and Nero had to wait that long before being forced to tell you what it was.
Though Imperial privilege is pretty Op, so is Instinct in a way
Anyway so one big difference between Shirou and Hakuno (in the game) is more of a fighter, or at least tries to be, Hakuno is a thinker
Now this doesn't exactly mean that they are smarter than Shiro, there is a difference between fight smarts and regular smarts, or Street smarts if you're a 90s kid
It's pretty much how his projection Works he has to analyze and break down whatever he's looking at, he also does it for a handful of his fights, and it's not like the Masters just sit there until the fight is over
Hakuno isn't a mage in real life heavily on their Mystic codes along with their wit, as I mentioned before there a thinker not a fighter, Nero even compliments that watching them overcome such impossible odds despite being such a terrible mage makes them even more dazzling when they grasp that impossible victory
This also brings into account the actual ordering around of the servants and Masters doesn't get talked about too much because of a lot of meddling with how the anime does certain things
Hakuno in last Encore is given a shounen jump power up called Dead face where he gained all the battle experience magic inabilities of all the people who have died in the moon so come on this is not present in the game because Dead face is also technically a different character then Hakuno
Rip Billy
Last Encore came out off the heels of Fate Stay Night unlimited bait works, the original movie and the dean's fade route, and the heavens feel part 1 movie was about to release, Fate Apocrypha also wrapped up beforehand, which gave us sig, a master who transforms and fights
So maybe they just were scared that if they didn't have a protagonist that could duke it out like the other two
Then of course he has his access to tracing, I think he could get the Mystic codes in the game I'll have to do is buy them from a store.
Then of course there's the ordering servant around thing that the Masters are supposed to be doing, the best example I got for this is the way Cheryl handles the blood prison in the Fate route , after Shinji explains everything he's doing chiro is enraged and the straw that breaks the camel's back is when he explains that Tyga using the loss of her strength try to get Shinji to call for help only to literally kick her while she's down
The tiger button for Shiro is essentially the Goku button for vegeta, you don't really push it
DBZ Abridged:Shouldnt have pushed the Goku Button
So shirou flies at Shinji, who retaliates using his shadow book, thanks to Shirou's training regiment plus the training he's been doing with artoria it's practically nothing, he charges again, Medusa shows up tries to stab him it doesn't work so she kicks him out the window
And then shirou uses a command seal in midair to call saber can they go right back inside with a very simple game plan, she takes care of Rider while he takes care of Shinji and it works really easy
It's also brings up The Kill rule for shirou, a bit of a topic since I've gotten into fate with some misinterpretations
It's not that shirou won't kill it's that he doesn't normally like it, but he'll do it if it means someone has either gone too far or to save lives, that's why he made the contract to be Emiya
After manhandling Shinji he tells him to drop the blood prison, he refuses and Shirou immediately resorts to killing him, the confusion starts because with how it happened the anime with a lack of monologue people mostly thought like Shinji he was bluffing
the visual novel very much explains that he was going to do it if he didn't stop
This can also go into how both he and Artoira will react to the opponents they have to kill.
Alice and Nursery Rhyme or the first people they run into that are actual killers, and they're doing it with honest to God Smiles on their faces, but boss is still a child and more importantly all girl already on her deathbed so they would still feel bad about it.
the biggest problem they could run into is probably Rin and cu, Arc, Li, and maybe Gawain
It has been shown to us that yes arturia can beat landslide in a fight which makes sense, she's King Arthur, at the reason I say maybe is because the dungeon you fight gawain in has a sun
Landslide can defeat Gawain even if the Sun is out, Queen on the other hand is capable of defeating Mordred even if the sun isn't out and only died because he fought Lancelot beforehand. Mordred gets triggered being in the room when he says this but she doesn't deny it.
The reason I'm still leaning on Artoira is something I learned very recently, Mordred doesn't exactly scale to her dad like I originally thought, even the battle on the hill there were several things going on on how the Rebellion went as far as it did.
As mentioned before Gwen was weakened for trying to file Lance a lot, Lancelot couldn't get to Mordred otherwise it would be over, and Artoira despite winning was already exhausted from dealing with a completely different Army from Rome right beforehand
All that put aside, even if the sun was a problem and she couldn't take him down, Rani can and would hack the moon cell like she does in the game anyway
Now for a point for Gawain, I don't believe he would hold back against Artoria he would still give it his all, he respects his King enough not to do that, and arturia would do the same thing, she loves and respects each and every one of her knights and wouldn't do that to any of them
Lancelot in zero is a special case because of a emotional and mental fatigue, completely misunderstanding why he was a Berserker in the first place she thought it was because Lancelot was mad that she robbed her of his happiness with Gwen
If anything, through a DVD mini series starring Iri and young Tiga, written by Natsu the original author, it backtracks and explains that it's not the case at all, lancelots just mad that she won't punish him. He does this a lot in some cases it's to pick on Gen but that's just what happened.
And even then, despite all that and getting smacked around for so much of the fight after the unmasking, she still wins.
So I believe that both Gawain and artoria would go all out if they fight
So I'm pretty sure the biggest hurdle they have is Rin and Cu. Plus Li and Julius. Arc thankfully nerfed has a Berserker so it will take a lot of work but they they could possibly come out on top
Unfortunately don't know who or what the final villain for extra actually is so I'm going to let someone else explain that to me
-----
Somewhat conclusion
So for the most part, if you ask me I think they actually could win, they're Dynamic will be probably somewhere but a little different because again, different background for Shiro and more killing.
They'll probably to what every other servant you have in extra does and bond over the grief, along with a little fact that the moon cell wants the servant to kill their Master to get what they want
Rejecting it makes you the enemy in the moon sells eyes and they'll send a shadow servant to deal with you to retaliate
We kind of saw something similar to this in the Fate route when saber Rejects her one chance to get the grill and finally accepts that she is in love with Shirou
Choosing between saving Rin or Rani could probably end up the same way too, artoria might be a little less upset then nearer was despite the saving them was her idea
Again I don't know who the main villain is or how they work so that's a discussion for another time but as for the actual work, I think they got this so I'm going to give it a yes
What do you think? If yes, how do you think it would go, if no why do you think not
So next time I'm probably going to focus on how the other protags would handle stay night, meaning they'll have to get through people like go through Kotomine and Gilgamesh don't know how that will go but we'll see, later
