“But we’re not going to go down in history, just this little talk about it – I don’t know if I would ever do something like that, it’s just not my business anymore.”
âI’m so busy with other music and play with other types of people all the time. I like to play heavy stuff from time to time, from time to time …
“But I really like the composition now, the different instruments and sizes of the songs, and three or four voices, and female backing vocals and cool shit!” Music!
âIt’s much more what I’m looking for now. Tonight I’m going to be playing with this eight-piece band here that I just networked into in my new home here in New York.
Jason Newsted responds to what he would say if someone called him to play bass

âJohnny Cash, ‘Ring of Fire’ and they have a brass section. I’m gonna do some shit, so this is where I am. And if Andreas calls and says, “Come and fill a half hour of Sepultura with me and somewhere”, I’m here!
âThis thing came out in an interview in Florida, I think it was an art show interview actually, and there’s something about my shoulder surgeries, and I said: “I can’t play Metallica songs anymore. “
“And people started running around with this stuff, and I’m like, ‘Are you sure you listened to what I said? Are you sure you heard the words I spoke? Someone just ran with that part and they made up this fucking big thing.
âBut I just want everyone to realize whoever asked me to come and play bass. And if it was for real, then I’d be there to play bass.
