While the internet was busy giving its valuable opinion on the heated controversy of Neil Young pulling his music from Spotify on Joe Rogan Row, a meme post has dragged rock band Nickelback into the midst of chaos that has led to all-new drama. this week-end. The Canadian rock band was massively trolled where many dubbed them one of the worst bands of all time.
An individual on Twitter decided to troll the band Nickelback and it succeeded as he quickly earned himself one of the top trending spots on Twitter. The viral post joked that the band had threatened to release their music on Spotify unless Joe Rogan’s podcast was taken down. It came on the lines of legendary folksinger Neil giving Spotify an ultimatum to remove his music after accusing Rogan’s podcast of spreading Covid vaccine misinformation. Spotify agreed and removed all of Neil’s discography from the platform a day later. Neil’s friend and singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell joined him in the protest saying: “I have decided to remove all my music from Spotify. Irresponsible people spread lies that cost people their lives. She added, “I stand in solidarity with Neil Young and the global scientific and medical communities on this issue.”
