Paul Stuart joined Stockholm-based Utopia Music as Legal Director.
Based in Stockholm, he reports to the Managing Director of Utopia, Markku Mäkeläinen.
Stuart will lead the Utopia Music legal team, dedicated to providing the legal framework and advice to ensure that Utopia’s solutions and services enable the growth of the music industry.
He joins Utopia from Soundtrack Your Brand (formerly Spotify Business), where he was General Counsel and Head of Business Affairs.
Prior to that, Stuart held senior positions at EMI Music in Sweden and on the video streaming platform Magine Pro.
He started his career with the Nordic commercial law firm Mannheimer Swartling and also spent time at Malmö District Court.
Stuart joins a growing team of nearly 150 Utopia employees in offices located in Zug, London, Brussels, Helsinki and Stockholm.
Other recent hires include former downtown executive vice president Roberto Neri as COO, Amazon and Universal alumni Paul Gathercole as chief data officer, and former Polaris Hub CEO Ã…sa Carild as head of the platform.
