Six by Six—a new supergroup with Saga guitarist Ian Crichton, Saxon drummer Nigel Glockler and singer/multi-instrumentalist Robert Berry (who previously played in 3 as good as Emerson, Berry, Palmer) will release their self-titled debut album on August 19 on premier prog label, InsideOutMusic. The band shared the album’s lead single, “Yearning To Fly,” which also happens to be the upcoming LP’s opener. You can check out video of the track below.
Glocker and Bay worked together as part of Yes guitarist Steve Howethe group gtr. Glockerin the same way Crichtonalso recorded sessions with Asia.
“Throughout my career I’ve been very selective about what to do outside. Saga and when opportunities presented themselves, I said ‘no’ much more often than I said ‘yes’,” said Crichton on the group (via stronger program). “When RobertThe manager of contacted me in 2020 and explained to me what Robert was looking to do creatively and how my guitar could be central to the musical vision, I was intrigued.
“Ian and I was determined to keep this 3 piece band going,” added Bay“and needed a batsman with a similar mindset and who is a solid heavy hitter. My friend Nigel Glockler was the ideal solution.
