Today Secret Machines released a new double EP via FLOOD which includes a reissue from 2008 dream of dreaming and a new collection of dubbed music Day 21. The group has shared a total of six tracks, which are available to stream now.

Secret Machines is made up of Brandon Curtis on guitar and Josh Garza on drums. The duo first formed the band in Dallas and performed alongside Curtis’ brother, Benjamin. He eventually left the band in 2007 to focus on his work with the School of Seven Bells.

From there they shared additional work which led to their previously released LP, Wake up in the brain chamber. The reissue of the group dream of dreaming draws from their 2008 repertoire, with tracks like ‘Daylight (Won’t be Long)’ and ‘Dreaming of Dreaming’. Additionally, they also shared an unreleased version of “Dreaming of Dreaming,” which features Bad Seed’s Jim Sclavunos and guitar virtuoso Peter Mavrogeorgis. Additionally, Secret Machines delivered three other tracks, “Day 21”, “Matrons” and “New Ordinance”, which collectively constitute the Day 21 EP.

Sclavunos shared some thoughts on the recent collaboration with the band. He said: “Secret Machines were one of the coolest live bands from that wonderful era of the New York scene. Working with them in the studio was a thrill and a real pleasure.

In a press release shared by the band, they added that new music is on the horizon and can be expected later this year. For the latest news on Secret Machines, visit their website.
