Position summary:

The General Manager of Radio will oversee all operations of the secret group’s radio department. You will manage a dedicated promotions team, develop and implement strategies to achieve broadcast goals, foster and maintain relationships with artist and label teams, as well as cultivate relationships with stations and industry leaders. industry, nationwide. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations, Americas. The role could be based in our Bloomington, Brooklyn, Chicago or Los Angeles offices.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the radio promotions team to ensure all radio goals are achieved on the Secretly group roster
  • Develop and implement long-term strategies to grow and establish an artist’s footprint on radio
  • Manage the internal radio team and external third parties, developing best practices, systems and a division of labor that maximizes the capabilities of the department
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with artists, managers and station representatives
  • Travel regularly for station meetings, radio promotion tours, liaise between stations and artists
  • Work closely with the label’s Marketing, Projects and A&R teams, building a roadmap to drive circulation, contributing to long-term artist planning and album campaign strategies
  • Work with label teams to determine unique selection and sequencing, recommending radio edits if necessary
  • Weekly reports, presentation and training of label staff on promotional activities, campaign progress and effectiveness
  • Analyze data and identify actionable responses for audience growth in respective markets
  • Create and manage budgets for pre- and post-release album campaign cycles
  • Monitor and approve department budgets, including staff travel and promotional activities
  • Develop release forecasts with regular updates for artist and label teams
  • Work with discretion on proprietary information
The ideal candidate demonstrates:
  • 7+ years of radio promotion experience with a proven track record of delivering campaign goals
  • Expertise on multiple radio formats including AAA, Alternative and Non-Comm
  • History of fostering and maintaining healthy relationships with radio stations, artists and management teams
  • History of success in developing artist careers and leading high-profile singles campaigns in commercial radio formats
  • An existing network within the radio industry
  • Managerial experience, proven leadership skills
  • A passion for music and a familiarity with the Secretly Group repertoire
  • Experience with Mediabase and BDS broadcast reports and translating analytics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and adapt in a rapidly changing work environment
  • Information gathering and follow-up skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • A willingness to work nights, weekends and travel as needed
  • Experience working with various label and promotion teams
