The Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC) commemorates Pride Month in June with two events for creators and professionals in the LGBT music industry, as part of the organization’s ongoing work to develop partnership programming culture that underscores the MLC’s commitment to diversity.
Created by Dae Bogan – MLC’s Third-Party Partnerships Manager – this year’s Pride Month events include a first-ever in-person workshop for LGBT creators at the MLC offices in Nashville on June 22, and the second annual his “Tuning Into Pride” Roundtable Discussion Webinar on June 1st.
LGBT music creators and music industry professionals have made significant strides over the years to increase their visibility and reach in all aspects of the music industry. From artist collaborations and stage performances to implementing behind-the-scenes change and moving up the corporate ladder, the LGBTQ community has proudly and boldly taken new steps toward equality.

About The Mechanical Licensing Collective (MLC)
The Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC) was designated by the US Register of Copyrights in July 2019 pursuant to the Music Modernization Act of 2018. The MLC is responsible for administering the new general compulsory license for the use of musical works by digital music services. Beginning in January 2021, mechanical streaming royalties in the United States will be processed and paid by MLC at no cost to songwriters or music publishers.
