Watch Tracii Guns perform LA Guns Show from behind the scenes in the bathroom

Tracii Guns surprised fans attending the LA Guns concert Thursday night (June 23) in Plano, Texas, performing the set from a backstage bathroom.

“So we have a unique situation,” the guitarist explained in a social media post. “A lot of people know I have panic disorder. Although I have 95% control of it, the heat is the remaining trigger and I just can’t play in the heat. BUT!!! We have found a solution for today’s show I will be performing in a comfortable bathroom directly behind the stage where there is air conditioning.

Guns and his team ran cables to the next bathroom and set up audio equipment in the makeshift space so he could listen and perform with his bandmates on stage. The guitarist even streamed his performance on Instagram Live for fans who wanted to see him perform.

Impressively, the setup seemed to work, with the room’s internal video screen showing Guns’ performance as well (you can see some of the footage below).

The idea for the bathroom layout came from LA Guns bassist Johnny Martin.

“Tracii wasn’t going to play the show at all. Because his anxiety is still pretty prevalent,” Martin explained in an Instagram comment. “He told me (earlier today) that he wasn’t going to put on the show, because the heat was just too unbearable for his condition. And that we’ll just have Ace [Von Johnson] cover its parts. So basically we play four.

Marin suggested an alternative option.

“I suggested that we find an air-conditioned place near the stage. And There you go ! … Here we are. Much better than him to withdraw, all together. I AM A KING GENIUS!”

LA Guns are on a national tour alongside Tom Keifer Band and Faster Pussycat.
