Only the rapper from The Family ARoy was shot and murdered on camera during a Facebook Live video on Monday, December 13, after a violent confrontation with the suspect in Chicago’s O’Block neighborhood.

In the Facebook Live video of the encounter, ARoy can be seen punching the guy and saying, “You’re a grown man. I’m going to fuck you!” The man was still lying on the ground and as it seemed the conflict was over and AROY started to walk away, the man pulled out a gun and shot it several times in the chest of ARoy. . at the University of Chicago Hospital in serious condition where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

According to a Chicago police report, the crime happened around 1:50 p.m. in the 6400 block of S King Drive. The Homicide Squad is currently investigating the murder and has not provided any further information, but the shooter, who left the scene, has yet to be apprehended.

Who was ARoy?

ARoy, real name James Johnson, was a rapper from Chicago and a member of hip-hop group The Mistakes. He was also a member of Lil Durk’s Chicago rap collective, Only The Family, founded in 2010. He resided in Chicago’s O Block neighborhood, one of the city’s most dangerous neighborhoods, infamous for its gangs.

ARoy is the latest name to be added to the list of members of Lil Durk’s family group who have been shot and killed. Dontay Banks Jr, brother of Lil Durk, was recently gunned down outside a nightclub. In 2020, Durk’s boyfriend and rapper King Von was killed outside the Monaco Hookah Lodge in Atlanta.
